Well, if you're going to go in that direction, what about the question of afterdeath? Not just doomsday of humans, but the undead and things of the like. Maybe humans being so scared of death, that they extend life in supernatural ways? Frankenstein's Monster, for example. What about zombies? Humans living past death.
